Biography of Sara McKiness

Sara McKiness is a Certified Horse Trainer who helps riders improve their communication with horses without punishment. She travels to local barns in Chicago and local areas and helps with any training or riding issues that you may have. Sara will improve your relationship with your horse and allow you to communicate in a logical way.

Prior to establishing her training business in St. Charles, Sara had been riding for ten years. She attended Meredith Manor International Equestrian Center (MMIEC) and completed the program with honors. She graduated valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA and numerous awards. Sara majored in teaching and training, and minored in Farrier Science. Sara studied Farrier Science for over a year, and after graduation assisted the Journeyman Farrier with many horses. She then stayed on to further her education while teaching classes.

After teaching at MMIEC, she went on to work for a Grand Prix Dressage trainer as a working student. Sara continued to teach and train while working under various trainers. She has now been riding horses for over 15 years, and has studied with numerous trainers both western and dressage. Sara is still continuing her education with local horse trainers, articles, and books. She is a member of the NRHA and the USDF and is in the process of obtaining her USDF certification.

Sara's goals are to compete in FEI reining and through 4th level in dressage. In addition she wishes to obtain her USDF certification though 4th level and her NRHA judge’s card.
